Potentially ‘destructive’ Cyclone Oma could hit south Queensland and NSW coast this weekend. All 34 Gold Coast beaches have been closed for the next three days as Tropical Cyclone Oma bears down on the southern Queensland coast, bringing up to 300 millimetres of rain. Gold Coast Bulletin Tropical Cyclone map provides the latest tropical cyclone alerts for Northern Territory, Queensland and Western Australia. The level of cycle threat is broken down into Forecast Area, Watch Area and Warning Area. It was an unnamed cyclone that hit Queensland in 1954, but the scale of damage and loss of life earned it the title 'the Great Gold Coast Cyclone'.
